Sun Salutation

Sun Salutation is a high energy and soulful synthesis of rock, funk, blues, reggae, dub, and sampling. Born on the the third coast of the USA, Sun Sal organically formed from a group of friends who just wanted to hang and jam together. Realizing their music was resonating with friends and the local college scene, the band went to work creating their first EP "Whims of the Great Magnet," soon to be followed by their first full length studio album "Stand Sideways.” In 2009 Sun Salutation picked up and moved to Austin to immerse themselves in the art and live music capital of Texas. Inspired Sun Sal headed back into the studio to record and produce their sophomore album. What manifested was "Something Sacred,” a testament to the cohesiveness the band had formed playing hundreds of live shows and focused writing sessions. This album featured high energy rock and groove to melodic and meaningful, blending genres and using the studio as a canvas to experiment and create. Two more years of touring and writing 2015 saw them go back into the studio to record their final collaboration, “Spirals.” Stripped down, raw, and sincere.
