Steel Foundation

Steel Foundation's unique use of the steel drum as a mainstream instrument highlights their culturally layered blend of rock, pop and world beat styles. The band got its start in 2006 and since their introduction they have shared the stage with many local southern California bands including High Tide, Tribal Theory and Through The Roots; and have performed material on the stage with local artists from international touring acts including Corina Rose (Corina Rose), Larry Young (Common Sense) and Carlos Marin, Jr. (Pato Banton and The Mystic Roots Band). In 2009 Steel Foundation began moving their talent northward, putting on shows at clubs, colleges and festivals along the California coast from San Diego to Long Beach and on to Santa Barbara in 2010. They are currently working on their first feature video which they expect to release this summer. -- June 2012
