Shelly Bush

A lot has been said and written about the youthful zest and powerhouse vocals of Shelly Bush. She’s already been called one of the hottest female country vocalists and entertainers to ever come out of Missouri. Shelly’s high energy, show stopping live performances and non-stop touring has garnered her a mass amount of media attention and an ever growing fan base. Shelly has been described as the “real deal” performing over 250 shows a year across the globe while selling thousands of cd’s off the stage over the last several years and that was before music enthusiasts, country radio DJ’s and industry insiders even had an opportunity to listen to her music. Growing up an only child in a small rural town in central Missouri, Shelly knew when she was only five years old that she wanted to sing. She would stand in the middle of her bed with a hairbrush as a microphone and sing songs by Reba and Alabama as she put on concerts for her family. Raised on country, gospel and rock music, Shelly taught herself how to play piano by the time she was six. While growing up singing in Church and school music competitions, her love of performing grew. Shelly credits her love of music to her parents who spent many years driving her around the country to sing. "My parents put over 400,000 miles on their car so I could sing at any place we could find. In fact, one time we drove 500 miles to Nashville so I could sing at the Ernest Tubb Midnight Jamboree and then we turned around and drove right back home". By the time Shelly was a teenager, she was cutting her teeth on Missouri's fertile music scene playing the club and Opry show circuit While in high school Shelly won a guitar in a drawing from a local music store and started writing her own songs. After graduating from college with a B.S. degree in Criminal Justice/Psychology Shelly immediately moved to Nashville to pursue a career in music. Fortunate enough to have a day job working for the U.S. Postal Service when she arrived in Nashville, Shelly started honing her musical craft by performing on the local club scene almost every night. Shortly after that her talent and perseverance paid off as she spent the next couple of years touring with major label artist Michael Peterson as his opening act. Shelly has been warming up audiences for many National acts ever since including Zac Brown, Brad Paisley, Rascal Flatts, Sugarland, Keith Urban, and Taylor Swift to name a few and has had the coveted spot of singing the National Anthem at a handful of Nascar Races and she has even garnered the high profile slot of a couple of live television appearances in front of millions of viewers at home during her performance of the national anthem before the Nascar races at the Michigan Motor Speedway. Shelly has recorded 8 independent albums and 3 of the albums were released on L & M records in Ireland and received lots of airplay throughout Europe. She even had a chart topping song called “The Note” that was number 1 for five weeks on the Texas chart, The Roots Music Report. While writing most of the songs on all of her albums, Shelly has had the opportunity to co-write with some the industries most seasoned and well known writers including Larry Alderman and Buck Moore. Shelly has had the pleasure of working with legendary producer Barry Beckett and well known country music icon Dick Frank. Shelly has garnered airplay on almost every radio station in Missouri as well as the Buck Owens radio station KUZZ in Bakersfield CA, and Nashville’s legendary WSM 650 am and even received a rave review by Bob Oermann in Music Row Magazine. Several years ago Shelly formed an all girl band called broadBAND. The chemistry was instant and they have already made a name for themselves playing over 250 shows a year from standing room only crowds on the local club scene in Nashville to an abundant amount of growing fans on the club, casino, and fair circuits across America including the National Finals Rodeo week in Las Vegas to high profile festival dates like Country USA. They have landed the opportunity to share the stage with many major acts including Sara Evans, Brooks and Dunn, Brad Paisley, Dierks Bentley and Eddie Money to name a few. Recently Shelly and broadBAND have been in the recording studio working with well known producer Russ Zavitson. They also just shot their first video with Russ to one of the songs they recorded called “Why can’t you forgive me.” Shelly has been test driving some of the new songs she wrote to vast audiences out on the road. The response has been overwhelming. “Music is a gift that I am thankful for everyday. It’s a fun and exciting road. I am grateful for all the friendships and personal collaborations I have had along the way.” With Shelly’s own dreams taking root, she credits her strength and inspiration to her parents. Shelly’s greatest love is when she takes the stage and performs.
