"This band sounds like they feed their enemies to wild beasts on a regular basis." - Classic Rock Magazine, Issue 242 Second Rate Kings is an energetic rock band from Orange County, CA; comprised of Tyler Liem on guitar/lead vocals, Brandon Liem on drums, and Ryan Bell on Bass. Blending the vigor of rock and roll with the brazen passion of the blues, the Liem brothers hit hard with a refreshingly modern sound. Influenced by great bands like Collective Soul, Kaleo, and Black Pistol Fire, SRK brings as much life as possible to every performance. Described as "barely tamed rock energy", they are quickly becoming hometown heroes. In October 2018, they were named one of only two winners of the 95.5 KLOS Frosty, Heidi, and Frank Show "Stay or Go" contest and granted a slot on the FHF Birthday Bash at Surf City Blitz 2018. Heavy guitar, thrashingly precise drum work, delicious bass lines, and, ironically, a whole lot of soul make these two (and a half) gingers worth listening to.
