Reverend Duane Ahlgrain

Just an FYI; a "reverend" is someone that is legally allowed to preside over weddings and other ceremonies. It DOES NOT mean they attended years of seminary schooling. Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top, Chef Bobby Flay, Tom Hanks, political commentator Glenn Beck, and hundreds more have been ordained by the same organization. Duane began playing guitar at 16 and formed his first band at the age of 19. He played in several rock cover bands during the late '80's and early '90's, one of which was fortunate enough to play opening act for several older ' 70's artists like Robin Trower, Pat Travers, and Blackfoot. He attended Vandercook College of Music in Chicago but quit due to the high price of tuition. Everything changed when he met Dave Young, a fabulous local blues guitar player. The two of them spent many nights drinking and recording song ideas in Duane's micro home recording studio. Years later Dave passed away due to alcohol abuse and Duane was devastated to the point of selling all his guitars, drums, amps, and vowing to never play again. Fast forward 17-18 years later and Duane has immerged back into playing music, obtaining new gear, and writing and recording. A new original album is in the works (with all instrumentation performed by him) but only a few cover tunes will be uploaded here in Reverbnation.
