NAME & ALIAS: Derrick Junior Shepherd "DemiGod" BIRTHDAY: 12/27/85 BORN & RAISED?: Born in Brooklyn, New York but raised mostly in North Carolina (Martin, Pitt County) WHEN DID YOU START RAPPING?:I started rapping when I was 11 not too long after my grandmother passed away. I didn't take it seriously at the time. I just wrote little rhymes here and there just for play. I would say I became more passionate about it after I listened to "Slippin" by DMX. WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO START RAPPING?:I've always had a love for music and writing songs. At an early age I remember day dreaming about performing on stage. I've always kept things bottled up w/ out a way to release it and when I heard "Slippin" from DMX I was introduced to my outlet which was rapping. I then began to study DMX and other artist such as Jay-Z, Eminem, Busta Rhymes and Notorious B.I.G. I studied how to formulate a rhyme and a song from listening to them. I still study these same artist to this very day. WHAT ELSE INSPIRES YOU TO RAP?: Knowing I can be a voice for not just myself but for ppl who don't have one. Being the person that can translate your deepest feelings into words so you can better explain to others. WHAT KIND OF STYLE DO YOU THINK YOU HAVE? I have more of a Northern rap style. New York to be exact. I can rap almost any style depending on the beat and how I'm feeling but I'm a up north rapper to the core.
