When Pam Daley delivers a song she invites the listener in as she unknowingly reveals pieces of her soul. Her refined, crystal clear vocals are at once intimate and open, as if the words are meant to be shared, but also meant only for you. In years past, Daley sang in rock bands that tended to drown out the subtler colors of her voice. But when she returned to the music that she loved, bluegrass and acoustic country, she had found her way home. Longtime bluegrassers may remember Pam as a member of Cornerstone, the early 90’s upstate New York band that introduced a then young and virtually unknown Chris Stuart. They were the 1991 winners of the Winterhawk (now Grey Fox) band contest and soon afterward began work on their 1992 debut recording “Maggie’s Daughter”. The album was produced by Bil Vorndick, known for his work with the multi-Grammy winning Alison Krauss. “Maggie’s Daughter” was immediately embraced by listeners and the title song found its place on the bluegrass charts. In 1992 Cornerstone showcased at the IBMA Trade Show in Owensboro, KY. Stuart has since moved on to become a highly respected bandleader and award-winning songwriter, while Pam who is originally from Pittsburgh, Pennslyvania, has made Nashville her home for the past 17 years.
