Overload

Please don't just read the bio. GO AND LISTEN TO SOME TUNES. That's what it's all about. Born, raised in Montreal (quartier Villeray) Quebec. Started playing drumz at 15. Studied drumz/percs at McGill University Faculty of Music with Pierre Beluse. Private lessons with drummer Claude Ranger and arranging/harmony with Frank Mella. Got into MIDI and PCs. My first was an Atari ST running Cubase. Drumz are my main 'voice' but I've always loved ALL instruments so I learnt a few: keyboards, alto/soprano saxes, timbales, guitar, and bass. Recently been working on my conga technique and listening to a lot of Cuban music. Played everything from pop, latin, jazz, rock, big band, 'club dates', studio sessions etc etc. Now retired from 'commercial' music. Btw, OVERLOAD is the name I use for all my 'solo' projects. My real name is Rene Amesse. Have small studio in Kanesatake, Quebec devoted to writing and performing my own music and projects. I'm open to collaboration with other musicians/writers. Bottom line: PLAY or DIE.
