Michael Paul Brooks

Michael Paul Brooks is a singer/songwriter who specializes in writing story songs. He lives in Whitehorse, Yukon.  He has performed more than 500 concerts in the past 10 years at music festivals, schools and libraries in the Yukon and across Canada. He is the co-founder and past president of Music Yukon, which represents the Yukon music industry territorially and nationally.  Other career highlights include:   Released historical folk CD on the Klondike Gold Rush titled, White Pass Express which received radio airplay in Canada, USA, France and Germany. Recorded Children’s CD, “Snowflake Town” that was featured across Canada on CBC radio.  Tracks played included, “Snowflake Town” and “ The Polar Bear Polka”.  Snowflake Town CD received regional radio airplay on CBC Radio North and sold more than 1000 copies in Yukon, Alaska and Germany.   Wrote and produced all music for children’s cable television show “Mister B’s Storyhouse”. The educational show was nominated for a Canadian Cable Television Award of Excellence.   Signed song synchronization deal with CBC National Television for Michael Brooks composition, “Look at My Book” which was used on CBC Television show, “The Greatest Canadian”.  Created "The Alphabet Bears" music and storybooks that teach children early reading readiness skills.
