Matt Koch

My first exposure to music was piano lessons at age 6, and later studying music as a french horn major at Indiana University of Pa. Returning to Upper Bucks County after college, I spent the past 50 years in a diverse career in the regional music scene. I've played keyboards (piano and Hammond organ) in several rock/country/blues bands including recordings with Wineskin, The Mob, Skatman Turner and the Wooltones, The Spare Tire Band and Friar's Point Blues Band. I've also played bass and recorded with tenor James Gafgen (The James Gafgen Orchestra), The Blue Ridge Mountain Boys, Mike Stanley (Big As Y'head), vintage musician Ken Lelen, Rupert & Scheetz, and the unusual bluegrass of Wheetstone Bridge. I've produced a Southern Gospel Album with Jim Gafgen that is available on line. I keep busy as a member of local Americana favorite Rupert & Scheetz, playing with Mike Stanley and Friends (Royaljam Music) and Reading based The Rudiments.
