Even at an early age Marc has been motivated and driven by success. He has always worked aggressively for the things that he has desired and gave a 110 percent to get them. Marc’s ability to prosper in spite of adversity was a skill he acquired very early in life. This was proven was when at thirteen Marc’s mom was determined to enter him into an advance education program at one of Chicago’s premier charter schools for gifted 7th and 8th graders. Viewing Marc as academically inferior to the other students in the program, the principle looked his mom in the eye and professed “He will never make it here”. Marc’s mom convinced the principle to give Marc a chance in spite of her skepticism in which she obliged. The incident lit a fire within Marc that hasn’t been extinguished to this day. That very year Marc made it his mission to prove the principle wrong. Not only did he excel, he went on to receive Honor grades and eventually received a four-year academic scholarship to the University of Illinois. There, with his drive still in full gear, Marc worked diligently at his studies and ended up on the dean’s list at the University. It was at this college Marc would discover his love for creating music. Studying during the week then without hesitance driving 300 miles back home to Chicago every single weekend to record and pursue his musical dream. Being taken seriously in the music industry turned out to be a challenge as well. After sending demo after demo to respected music execs, they all turned out to be as condescending as the 8th grade principal. Marc heard no time and time again. However, Marc always found a way to accomplish a feat. Marc’s entrepreneurial spirit blossomed and he created Indasoul Entertainment his own music company to launch his releases. One of these releases would catapult him into the music industry spotlight and turn the tables on the nay Sayers. Marc who once couldn’t get a foot in the door was now dancing to his own beat. It was during this stint in his life that Marc learned the invaluable lessons of belief in self and to never let “No” stop you. He also learned that you have to work hard for every single thing you want out of life hence his personal philosophy “There is no substitution for hard work”. A philosophy in which he reminds himself of on those days when it’s difficult to get out of bed or on those days that he just doesn’t feel like giving an effort. These values have permeated Marc’s essential being and has made him the grounded and successful person he is today. Over the years, Marc has turned his small production company into a powerhouse producing and re-producing records for artist like Janet Jackson, Madonna, Kelly Rowland and Chris Brown. These records that have sold millions and millions of units, Infact, Marc and his Indasoul brand has had a hand in several platinum and gold records that have generated over 20 million dollars in gross revenue. At one point, under Marc’s leadership, Indasoul had eight songs simultaneously moving up the Billboard charts, a feat rarely accomplished by any production company never the less a small one from the South Side of Chicago. Marc has also gone on to win numerous industry awards including two Ascap awards for his penmanship of chart topping records here and in Europe leading Ascap to recognize him in a Billboard magazine ad as one of the year’s most successful songwriters. Marc loves to take on the everyday challenges that persist within the music industry, however his business savvy does not stop there in the entertainment field. His entrepreneurial skills have transcended industries. In 2000 he launched a successful career into real estate. He worked hard to acquire the knowledge and expertise needed to survive in a very competitive market. He ultimately utilized these skills to successfully purchase and sell millions of dollars of property. So many people have told Marc that his work ethic and energy have inspired them to do more. These individuals have watched Marc conquer obstacles throughout his life and have inevitably learned that “if there is a will there is a way”. Marc is a natural motivator and his recollections of unforgettable experiences and triumphs will move anyone who hears him to action. He can reinvigorate the spirit in a room and inspire all towards the perils of success.
