Marc Audet Singer/Songwriter

Marc Audet is an active musician in the Ottawa Valley, performing over 150 times since 2014 in restaurants, pubs, chalets, markets, festivals and live radio. His guitar/vocal act is an acoustic presentation of older and contemporary folk, rock and pop songs (in some cases with liberal re-interpretation), and his repertoire includes original songs written about life experiences. A wide range of songs are included in set lists suited for quiet and dynamic settings. Central to the musical act is a Taylor 522E Grand Symphony acoustic guitar that projects the clarity and warmth of a very fine instrument. Musical styling is aided by guitar looping (electro-harmonix 2880) and harmonica solos. Marc took up guitar years earlier as a teenager, but his involvement in music grew later in life after moving back to his home town Deep River where, like many communities in the Ottawa Valley, live music was abundant. It was from this spirit that Marc’s songwriting and solo acoustic act emerged. From influences such as John Prine, Dave Gunning, David Francey, among other artists, Marc’s songwriting speaks to a range of life experiences; love, loss, decisions, struggle. In several songs, Marc pays tribute to the heritage of the Ottawa Valley; settlement along the Opeongo Road in the late 1800’s (Stone Fences) and the earlier travels of the coureur des bois accessing the lands of north via the Ottawa River (la Riviere). About 20 songs have been written and more are on the way. Efforts are underway to record an album which will be released later in 2017. Marc takes pride in being a member of SOCAN, the Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada. More information about Marc Audet is available FaceBook (Marc Audet Musician/Band). Marc is eager to take on bookings for shows at public venues or private or corporate events. Sets can be designed to suit the event, whether quiet folksy background music, or coffee house easy listening music or upbeat pub music sustaining a party. Anything is possible!
