MANTRIC

MANTRIC released their first full-lenght, "the Descent" on american Prosthetic Records (Testament, Lamb of God, Gojira etc) in april 2010, and was the first European band ever to be released worldwide by this label. The critics (as seen below) embraced it, and lovers of hard music all over the world once again looked to Norway, but this time for something new and original. Playing under a new and yet fairly unknown name, the members of Mantric are hardly newcomers. Already back in 1997 the core of Mantric (O.H.Sveen, T.M. Glidje and J.R. Mjåland) signed their first record deal, with German Solistitium Records, under the bandname Lengsel. They had not turned 20 years at that point, but were already writing hard music that didn´t sound like anyone else, and it resulted in the cult-classic "Solace", bringing Norwegian progressive blackmetal to the corners of the world. After this, they´ve inspired musicians and openminded metalheads with Extol, who toured Europe and the U.S. with bands like Mastodon, Opeth and Demon Hunter, were nominated for a Metal Hammer Golden God and Norwegian Grammy (!) and released several mindblowing, always boundary-pushing, albums.
