LENNOX B / BUPPY BROWN
Recording Artist • Actor • Television Host • Filmmaker • DJ • Entertainment Entrepreneur
Lennox B, also known as Buppy Brown, is a Jamaican-born international recording artist, actor, television host, filmmaker, DJ, and entertainment entrepreneur whose career spans music, film, television, live performance, and global cultural storytelling. Based in California, his creative work has reached audiences across the United States, Europe, Africa, and the Caribbean, blending his Jamaican roots and reggae foundation with cinematic performance and independent media production.
Following the placement of his single “Love Vibrations” in Unstoppable, Lennox B continues spreading a message of love through his music. Streaming on Prime Video, the film is based on the true story of wrestler Anthony Robles and stars Jharrel Jerome, Jennifer Lopez, and Don Cheadle. While continuing to promote “Love Vibrations,” Lennox is now spotlighting “Emergency,” a single exploring genuine connection, finding love, and sharing it with others, as he prepares for the release of a new album coming soon.
Continuing his work in television and Caribbean media, Lennox is also a host of the new Caribbean Music Countdown, alongside DJ Ana and Ultra Simmo from Trinidad, airing through Black Vision Television (BlackVisionTV.net) and NBTMe.net. The program celebrates Caribbean music, artists, culture, and entertainment while connecting audiences throughout the Caribbean diaspora and beyond.
Lennox also continues his acting career with the role of Red in the comedy series Barbershop Larry, adding another character to a film and television career that stretches back to major Hollywood productions.
Lennox’s entry into Hollywood began through background performance work on the naval thriller Crimson Tide, directed by Tony Scott. During production, Scott took notice of Lennox’s presence and professionalism and later fulfilled a promise to involve him in a future project. That opportunity came with The Fan, starring Robert De Niro and Wesley Snipes. Lennox worked on the film as an actor, playing a teammate of Snipes’s character on the San Francisco Giants. The project also marked a defining musical milestone: “Do You Want Some,” which Lennox co-wrote with Luiz Neto, became his first song placed in a major Hollywood film, leading to his entry into ASCAP as a writer and publisher. Neto, a Brazilian bassist, was the first bass player in Lennox’s band, Buppy and the Uplifters.
He went on to appear in studio films including Blade, Blade II, U.S. Marshals (Watchcap), and Enemy of the State. In addition to acting roles, Lennox built extensive on-set experience serving as a personal stand-in and photo double for Wesley Snipes and Don Cheadle, beginning with productions such as Picket Fences and extending across film and television. Some of his television production work includes Arnold’s Caribbean Pizza and House of Lies, among others.
Parallel to his film career, Lennox developed an international music trajectory that expanded significantly during his time in Romania. He broke into the European market with the single “Seven Seconds” alongside Marius Moga & Simplu, connected to the Wesley Snipes film of the same name. During this era, he also built cultural and musical partnerships throughout Eastern Europe while establishing his family foundation.
His global profile rose further as a member of the multicultural trio Sahara, alongside Romanian producer Costi Ioniță and Bulgarian artist Andrea. The group introduced Lennox’s Jamaican vocal style into the European pop-dance market and further expanded his international reach.
His catalog includes multiple albums and soundtrack placements, including “Mind What You Say” (Blade II) and contributions connected to Enemy of the State. He later collaborated with Latin percussionist and multi-instrumentalist Chillie Willie Groove on the fusion single “It’s a Great Day,” blending reggae vocals with live world-percussion instrumentation. He also partnered with Argentine reggae artist Francis Style on the cross-cultural single “Traveler.”
Beyond recording, Lennox B remains active as a live performer and DJ, bringing reggae, dancehall, soca, Caribbean music, R&B, hip-hop, and contemporary selections to live events and digital audiences. His work as a performer, host, and DJ reflects the same cross-cultural versatility that has defined his recording career.
As a filmmaker and content creator, Lennox is the creator of the Caribbean family comedy-drama series Jahmanians, inspired by immigrant life, Caribbean culture, and real family storytelling. Through his production ventures and media platforms, he continues developing independent film, music, television, and cultural programming.
With “Emergency” currently being promoted, a new album coming soon, a continuing acting career, and his new role hosting Caribbean Music Countdown, Lennox B enters his next creative chapter by bringing together the worlds that have defined his career: music, film, television, live entertainment, and Caribbean culture.
At the heart of Lennox’s musical journey is the inspiration of his father, Jamaican saxophonist Lennox Brown Sr., a graduate of Alpha Boys School whose influence continues to shape his love of music and commitment to his Jamaican roots.
