Kipp Kahlia

Kipp Kahlia is an African American vocalist, guitarist and songwriter. She has toured extensively as a “sideman,” performing as a lead and rhythm guitarist with reggae bands for over a decade. She has backed a long list of reggae artists including Glen Washington, Leroy Sibbles, Lady Saw, Israel Vibration, the Wailing Souls, Freddie McGregor, and Eek-a-Mouse. She is the lead and rhythm guitarist for the female top 40 band Evelution, featured in the video posted to the right. Kipp writes and sings in both English and Spanish, and is now working on her solo project which includes original songs, jazz standards and classic songs in Spanish. She performs solo and with ensembles. The focus of Kipp’s music is a reflection of her values. “My music is about promoting healthy relationships,” she says. “All kinds of relationships – those between two people and among family members; relationships between people from different cultures and ethnicities, between countries, and between human beings and the earth we inhabit. That’s the mission!”
