OVERVIEW: The dynamic, soul-building ministry of Soul Venture is officially endorsed by more than 70 pastors and Christian leaders from a wide variety of denominations. Soul Venture travels across the mid-west using a creative fusion of God's word, compelling stories, scriptural teaching, and beautiful music to help people assess and improve their spiritual health. Since 2007, God has been using Soul Venture to renew and revive the spiritual health of the local church. This vibrant vocal group performs at churches, schools, country fairs, community festivals, and civic events. Their music is played on Christian radio stations throughout the region. GROUP MEMBERS: The members of Soul Venture have over 30 years of cumulative experience in music leadership at the local church level. Katie Jordan-Reiff (lead vocalist) began singing publicly at age 8. She has won many prestigious awards for vocal performance, and has faithfully used her voice over the years to honor the Creator. The former FOX Network Idol, Miss Talented Teen Ohio, and Texaco Showdown Champion from NW Ohio resides in Nashville TN with her husband Travis and is active in her home church as a worship leader. Tim Jordan (Kate’s dad) is the group’s manager. He also sings, plays the keyboard, does the musical arranging, and handles the teaching/preaching responsibilities. In addition to his leadership with Soul Venture, his past musical accomplishments include singing baritone with the Shining Light Quartet; serving as a Minister of Music for 14 years, and traveling with and managing the successful gospel trio, Mirror Image. Stephanie Alison McCormick brings the soul to Soul Venture with her powerful and unique vocal style. As the daughter of a long-time Worship Pastor, Stephanie has strong expertise in planning and leading worship services and is a talented song writer. She also has a successful solo music ministry that has featured multiple television appearances. Jeff Jordan (Kate’s brother and Tim’s son) sings, plays the keyboard, and handles much of the stage leadership during the praise and worship segment of Soul Venture services. He is a former Worship Leader in a large church that featured a contemporary music format and is still active in his home church as a keyboardist, sound engineer, and fill-in Worship Leader. HISTORY: The group was formed in the spring of 2007 as they ventured out on faith with one objective — to invest their lives in the “soul health” of people . . . thus the name "Soul Venture." After 5 years of steady weekend traveling and performing throughout the tri-state area (Indiana, Ohio, Michigan), new developments in the Jordan family in 2011-2012 created a need for a hiatus. Jeff Jordan (Kate’s brother) got married (Kelly) and moved to Painesville Ohio. Katie Jordan (Travis Reiff) got married and moved to Nashville TN. Two years later, God blessed the Jordan’s with new arrivals and the first grandchildren for Tim/Pam. Thus, due to these transitions, Soul Venture's schedule was greatly reduced from 2013-2015. Due to family and church commitments, Soul Venture remains very selective with their bookings and maintains a very moderate travel schedule. MINISTRY SERVICES: Soul Venture is unique in that they offer a wide range of programming options including: 1) spiritual renewal weekends, 2) guest speakers for special events, 3) praise & worship gatherings, 4) community outreach services, 5) guest worship leaders and, 6) full concerts. It is rare to find a group today that has the broad appeal and versatility of Soul Venture. Their unique ability to use multiple styles of worship and different genres of music enables them to communicate effectively across the generations and across a wide spectrum of racial, ethnic, and demographic groups. Soul Venture’s musical style includes a distinctive and creative blend of contemporary Christian, progressive southern gospel, black gospel, traditional gospel, with some modern country tossed in for spice. Many of their fans say that Soul Venture reminds them of the Talley Trio (i.e. the Talleys) and the Martins. Soul Venture has released four studio albums including, Hope & Pray (2007); Mighty River (2009); The Dream is Still Alive - Stephanie's solo project (2010); and Down Home Country (2011) - the group's first country album.
