Karima started playing the guitar at age 11. Parallel to studying classical guitar she soon got into pop music, writing her own songs and playing guitar in several bands. In 1998 she decided to attend the world-renowned 'Musicians Institute' (Guitar Institute of Technology) in Los Angeles, USA to study contemporary music. After graduating with a top degree, she did a practical training in a Hollywood-based recording studio. A while ago Karima moved back to her hometown Hamburg, where she is working as a guitarist, singer, songwriter and music instructor. She is writing, recording and producing original music as well as performing in Germany and the U.S. (e.g. Emiliana Torrini).
