JULIAN JUNIOR MARVIN Julian “Junior” Marvin was born in Kingston, Jamaica. Moving to London as a child, his family and the UK theater community nurtured his love for acting and music. The main remaining strength still celebrating “Bob Marley & the Wailers” as Marley originally intended, Junior Marvin is carrying the vibes and Marley sounds forwards into 2023. Junior started his own rock band, ‘Hanson’, which was quickly signed to Emerson, Lake, & Palmer’s Manticore label headed by Mario “The Big M” Medious with the release of the Hanson album Magic Dragon in 1973 Fast forward to February 14, 1977. Junior Marvin was invited to join both Stevie Wonder’s band and Bob Marley & the Wailers band at the same instance. Junior’s family and gut-feeling sealed the deal and Junior joined Bob Marley’s band. The acclaimed Exodus LP became Junior’s debut with Bob Marley & the Wailers. Time Magazine declared in 1999 Exodus as the “Album of the Century.” The album track “One Love” was named Song of the Millennium in 2000 with Junior as the lead guitarist and a major musical contributor on all the subsequent Bob Marley & the Wailers albums. Junior toured worldwide with the Wailers until Bob’s passing in 1981. In 2002, Junior was included in Guitar World Magazine’s “Top 100 Guitarists of All Time” for his guitar solo on “Africa Unite” from the Bob Marley & the Wailers Survival album and Junior was a featured guest on albums by Burning Spear, Bunny Wailer, Beres Hammond, Culture, Joe Higgs, SOJA, The Meditations, Israel Vibration, Alpha Blondy, The Congos, and Alborosie, amongst many others. Following multiple touring situations with varied incarnations of ‘The Wailers’ after Bob Marley’s passing, Junior has listened to the millions of Wailers-fans continually requesting him to take to the worldwide stages and Junior will bring his own unique version of “The Wailers” performing and singing Bob Marley & the Wailers hit songs the way Bob intended them to be heard worldwide.
