JOJO MAC JoJo Mac, beautiful and talented singer and songwriter, adds to the copious Talents, which hail from the parish of Clarendon in Jamaica West Indies. In 2002, JoJo met the late Sir Clement “Coxone” Dodd, who was so impressed by her creativity and style that he recorded a song with her the very first day they met by way of introduction by Reggae veteran Ernest Wilson. She recorded 22 songs of which she wrote 20 in an eight month period. Two singles, “Good Girl Go Bad” an original, and a cover “Victim” originally done by Candi Staton were released during the making of the impending album. Unfortunately, the album was never released due to Coxone’s passing. JoJo continued her pursuit by singing in nightclubs and opening for major acts in the reggae industry, capturing the attention of every audience she encounters leaving them gratified. JoJo has the tenacity to display versatility on any genre of rhythmic grooves. As a performer she is electricity personified and has a commanding way about her with an “in your face” delivery of her songs and songs from other artists. JoJo Mac has shared stage with the likes of Beenie Man, Shabba Ranks, Marcia Griffiths and many more of the top Reggae Acts. She shared the stage with Cuba Gooden Sr. of the group Main Ingredient. She was the only Reggae act to perform at the Philadelphia Latin Festival, an annual event. JoJo Mac is a brand and she wears many hats. She hosted of a cable television show, Reggae On The Move” in Washington DC, while at the same time writing for a Baltimore newspaper “Caribbean Connection,” giving advice to the lovelorn in a weekly column called “Issues of the Heart.” The Philadelphia resident is currently a news correspondent for several radio stations across the US and the United Kingdom. Her voice has also been used for voice-overs. Despite her many talents and experiences, she would be quick to point out that her first love is singing and performing. She is an avid songwriter who either wrote or co-wrote all of the songs. Her first studio album was released digitally in October 2011. The spin-off album titled “Superstar Reloaded” was her next release. An official video for the track “Forget Him” was released followed by a video for the track “Girls Night out Weekend Remix”. “I’m In Love” with Chaka Demus went to Number One on the New York Foundation Reggae chart and Number 3 on The South Florida Reggae Chart. She was voted Top Female Artist of the Year for 2013 and 2015 on The New York Foundation Reggae Charts as well…….In July 2014 she began touring with Grammy-winning, roots reggae group Black Uhuru. In 2015 Pickout Records released a single “Dread out Deh”, originally done by Joy White, which gave JoJo Mac her first real International buzz and peaked at number two on the New York Foundation Reggae Chart. But that’s not all there is to JoJo Mac ….In July of 2015 she added another title to her name “Author”, when she published her first book, a novel titled “Secrets: Mixed up Moods and Deadly Attitudes”. In 2016; Smartkid Records gets in the mix and released JoJo Mac’s “War” on the Majestic Riddim with other artists like Lutan Fyah, Zamunda, Runkus and more. JoJo Mac is definitely on her way to the top and there is no turning back for the Singer, Songwriter, Author, News Presenter and Radio Show Producer. She is a force to reckon with. Fast forward to 2017 and the singer recorded a well-received cover of “Stormy Night” by Roland Burrell for Musical Ambassador Label along with a tribute to Sugar Minott on The Sweet like Sugar Tribute album from Musical Ambassador as well. She is currently working on her first roots album and a reggae/dancehall album simultaneously for 2018 releases. In October of 2017 the “BadSingerGirl” made her way onto the iTunes Top 200 All Genre Charts in Trinidad and Tobago at number two with Stormy Night and Number 4 with Dread Out Deh simultaneously beating out Beyonce, Jay Z, Katy Perry, John Legend, Rihanna, Adele… all of the big Genres top artist, where are sure some history was made there. While the same week debuting with both songs on the Reggae iTunes To 100 chart in that same country. JoJo Mac is currently working on Part 2 of her book to be released year. Her current album “Blueprint” from Musical Ambassador Label was released on December 29th of 2017 to rave reviews for 2018.
