JOHNNY Dysfunctional burst into life as a character in a self penned musical called Family Victim, which sold out at a fringe festival. Johnny appeared on stage with his family while the audience watched and then voted which family member was most responsible for driving Johnny off the rails. Johnny walked off that stage and dispirited by the harsh financial climate wrote ‘Sing-a-long Recession Song’ which his MP chose to represent his constituency in a House of Commons song contest. Dysfunctional’s songwriting reflects what is going on in life – sometimes aspects rarely voiced. He sings of the benefits of ‘Viagra’, the obsession of a generation with ‘Worldwide Fame’ how he had to confess to his girlfriend ‘My Other Lover Is Your Mother.’ He praises the women with fuller figures in ‘Big Girl in A Tight Dress’ and muses over relationships in ‘Battle of the Sexes.’ He led his band into the semi final of Live & Unsigned and a song of his hit No2 in the Greece charts, blocked from No1 only by Shikira.
