By the time he graduated in 2008 he had the freedom play at open mics in the Hudson Valley, usually at coffee shops, performing originals. In the summer of 2009 he teamed up with the actress Christina Valentine and started street performing in Astoria, New York with a homeless man known as, "The Unknown Truebrother" a.k.a old Gregory. Christina Valentine and Jeremy formed a band called Animals Like Us and booked shows in New York City, the Hudson Valley, and Berlin, Germany, also releasing an EP called the "Forest are Calling EP" which can be found on purevolume (http://www.purevolume.com/AnimalsLikeUs/albums/EP+2009) They performed and traveled for 6 months meeting all types of interesting people on the streets and on stage. In March of 2010 Jeremy Sunshine recorded a 5 song EP Called "The Starfish Chronicles" in Albany, NY entailing a fictional story:
