International Performing Jazz and R&B Artist, Jackie Greggs shows up as exquisite, demanding your undivided attention while she takes you on a musical journey. Greggs is a 19 year professional vocalist who recently moved to Sicklerville, New Jersey and performs throughout New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, New York City, and throughout the country. Greggs also performs with Warren Oree and The Arpeggio Jazz Ensemble, The Diverse Band, Eddie Morgan’s RECK’D 4 Jazz Ensemble and Mike Carthan's Jazz 4 Soul. Greggs, a native of Louisiana, recently completed a five city tour throughout Northeast Louisiana as part of the Louisiana Division of the Arts Jazz Series for Rural and Underserved communities. In 2011, Greggs enjoyed a five week tour in Kyoto, Japan, performing at the prestigious Selected Repos Nightclub. Also, in December 2011, she wrote, produced and performed in her latest creation “Four Women One Song,” which showcases the incredible talents of four female Jazz Vocalists and how music can unite the feminine power of women as one in music. Greggs is accompanied by the finest, seasoned and extremely talented musicians in a Trio and Ensemble setting. She also loves to perform duos with Vocals and Acoustic Guitar or Upright Bass. Greggs released her “Great Ladies of Jazz” Live CD project in 2010. She has also taken her love for Jazz into the classroom. Greggs has been most recently performing Jazz Education and Artist in Residency programs at Salem Middle School, Salem, NJ and various schools throughout Northeast Louisiana. Greggs has written and performed the following one-woman shows: 2004 “Tribute to Billie Holiday/ Her Life and Music”; 2005 “Welcome to Jackie’s Blues Café; The Cotton Club Returns with an“Evening with Ella” in 2008; and A “Tribute to the Legendary Nat King Cole” in 2009; In 2010 “Remembering Mr. Nat King Cole Tribute” and “Great Ladies of Jazz Series” which focuses on the legendary works of Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Dinah Washington, Nina Simone and Peggy Lee. Jackie Greggs’ musical influences includes: Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn, Gloria Lynn, Dinah Washington, Betty Carter, Carmen McCrae, Miles Davis, Nancy Wilson, Lester Young, Cannonball Adderley, Dianne Reeves, Vanessa Rubin, Carmen Lundy, Lavern Butler and many more.
