Hanal Pixan

Hanal Pixan is a Belizean Ancestral symphonic folk extreme metal band which was born in the 2013 at the small village close to the ancient Maya temple Noh Mul. The band's name Hanal Pixan means "food for the soul" in Yucatec Maya . Hanal Pixan is a Maya tradition of honoring the death . The band started as a one man band by Nohoch màak Chuc with the idea of giving tribute to his Maya heritage. In 2013 he release one instrumental song "El Alux" . In the 2014 Nojoch Brujo (Flames of Apocalyspe) join the project . In the 2015 the EP"Noh Mul" was release with Letargia Subversiva records(Brazil). Hanal Pixan release the full length album " In Lu'umil Belice" in the 2015 through Metal Mayhem Records(Belize). Hanal Pixan was feature in the Global Metal Apocalypse compilation "Global Domination" in the 2016. This same year Guitarist Thiago C join the band. 2017 Hanal Pixan release the album U k'aayo'ob k'ujo'ob. MUSICAL INFLUENCES: Hanal Pixan was highly influence by the Maya culture(Yucatec Maya) ,Maya folklore ,Ancient Maya history etc. We got influences of Black metal,Thrash Metal,Folk metal,Death metal,Doom Metal and Symphonic metal.
