For Shame

For Shame was founded in 2005 by singer/guitarist Bryan Kelly, ex-frontman of the NW Florida powerhouse band "ONUS". After the sudden and explosive breakup of the band, which had spent the previous three years gaining considerable noteriety throughout the SE United States, Bryan was eager to get back into action and form a new band. However, he would quickly discover how difficult it can be to form a group of talented and dedicated musicians in an area not noted for having a progressive music scene. Nevertheless, Kelly remained in perpetual motion by honing his skills as a vocalist and guitarist and by continuing to record and release music that would strengthen the link between himself and his listeners. In early 2009 Kelly met up with guitarist Teddy Sasse and started jamming on a regular basis. Sasse has been sharing his undeniable talent for guitar with the NW Florida music scene for several years and has lent his unique, crushing style to local bands such as Burn Me Alive, Painstream, Paradise Burning, and local veterans Pre-Emptive Strike. Bryan and Teddy found common ground in the belief that truly great music flows from a bond of brotherhood, shared vision, and musical honesty within a band. Although they knew outright that the road to thier objectives would be long, hard, and treacherous, the two musicians agreed to face whatever would come thier way with optimism... and brutality. Kelly and Sasse were soon joined by drummer Anton "Mike" Bethea and bassist Colby Irvin, formerly of Bad Saturday. Mike and Colby were fed up by the drama and lack of dedication that pervades the lives of people posing as musicians. They would suffer no such complacency as members of For Shame. Bethea and Irvin provided a fundamentally solid rhythm section which serves as a perfect backdrop for Teddy's guitar wizardry and Bryan's vocal sincerity. In the summer of 2010 For Shame parted ways with Colby. The split was amicable and the group still remains friends with the hardworking, dedicated professional that is: "The Cheeze". Fortunately for the band, veteran panhandle musician Jason Adams was willing to step in and fill the void. In addition to his solid ability on the bass, Jason is also an excellent guitar player and composer with an uncanny ear for good music.
