Difference of Opinion

Difference of Opinion is a hardcore punk band from NorthEast Los Angeles area of Cypress Park that was started in 1997 after the birth of Jr's son.Being skateboarders,childhood friends and fans of Punk Rock,Metal,Hardcore,Thrash they were influenced by bands such as Sub Society,Social Justice,Bad Religion,Metallica,Sick of it all ETC. The band was quickly formed by Juan(Munch)-guitar & Danny-drums ,Jr5150-bass,Daniel Ortiz(ex Stalefish)-guitar,and last to complete the line up would be Javier Lopez-vocals.They did there first show in East Los Angeles with a bunch of locals in a backyard gig.Danny Gonzales & Christopher Viranmontes(Appalling Evil) would soon replace Danny & Munch after the first show and would be asked to record the D.O.O demo "No Restraint".The band grew stronger and quickly gained noteriety through out the Lincoln Heights,Cypress Park,Highland Park,South Central,San Fernando Valley and of course the East L.A. area ripping up backyard gigs .in 1999 Daniel Ortiz would leave the band to pursue personal issues and would be replaced by Mikey Viramontes.They released a 7inch split with The Slanderin(Psychobilly) on Split-Seven Records with the help and support of L.A punk rock veteran Alex Alvarez of Los Creepers.in 2003 The band would play there last and most legendary hardcore show to date in East L.A at El Tropico the bill included Madball,Throwdown,Terror,Powerhouse,Piece by Piece and D.O.O...After the breakup members would go on to form other bands Jr5150 started and fronted the L.A hardcore band Countime,Chris would start The Dolemite Project and Diablos, Javee would go on to front the punk rock band Los Creepers and here after 10 years while the rest of the world is doing karate spin kicks and floorpunching we say bring the stage dives and circle pits back......THROWING IT DOWN FOR NORTHEAST L.A. WERE HERE TO STAY.......no restraint 4 ever!
