Desert Rider

[ENG] Desert Rider was born in Perugia in February 2012 thanks to an idea from Mathias Traverso and Francesco Gallinella. In a few weeks Alessandro Rizzuto (voice) and Manuel Bos (drums) completes the lineup. With this line-up, the band records the first work, a self-produced demo of three tracks, and begins live activity, racing several stages with bands such as Isaak, Mass Crisis, Gorganera, Christopher Walken. In June 2013, the line-up was changed: Federico Marcantoni replaces Manuel. In February 2014, the band recorded the single "Human Masquerade", which preceded the release of the first full-length album, Echoes of the Big Sand, in February 2015, due to new line-up problems (in November 2014, Alessandro Rizzuto leaves the band, and after a while also paths of Federico Marcantoni and the band have been divided). Echoes of the big sand records the new compositional period in which songwriting, sound and musical references are undergoing a marked change of course, bringing Desert Rider to the stoner / doom metal sound, enriched by psychedelic breath and, in a certain measure, post. The record is welcomed, receiving encouraging reviews both in Italy and beyond (Perkele, Doommabbestia, Rockgarage, Rockit.it, Phantasmagoria, Desertrock.com among others); the US webzine Doomed and Stoned inserts Echoes of the big sand among the best italian stoner / doom exits in 2015. Between January and February 2015 Luca Paparelli (drums, ex SRL and Light Silent Death) and Davide Marrazzo (voice, former Christopher Walken, Strawdogs) join the band. New lineup soon begins composing unpublished material, from which are chosen the songs that will form the second full length album of the band, Pilgrim of Chaos. In February 2016 Luca Paparelli, due to work commitments, reports he cannot continue his musical activity; the band focuses its attention on recording the second album, temporarily setting live performances in stand-by. In October 2016 Marco (Zombie Scars, Slave of Lord) began collaborating with the band, becoming the new drummer in a short time, officially announced in February 2017. The band has gone back on stage and has released its first official videocilp on March 2018, taken from the upcoming album, out for Taxi driver records.
