Darsemia Jackson (aka Darse Jackson™️) Hometown: Chicago, Illinois Recording Artist & Songwriter Places Visited: Chicago, NYC, Miami, Ca, Italy, Bahamas, Alabama, Canada Darsemia is a singer-songwriter born & raised in Chicago's "Hyde Park" area and one who started singing in the Chicago Children’s Choir at age 7-9years old as a professional opera singer. She then relocated to upstate Rochester, New York and became a member of Kodak-George Eastman Bach Children’s Choir, led by Director Karla Torkilshend as an opera singer/child actress who performed and sang at Carnegie Hall as well as in Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra's theatrical plays'. Moving back to Chicago, Illinois in a suburb called Palos Hills is where Darsemia began modern dancing/choreographing with a group called Above and Beyond while competing for her schools neighboring community. In 2000, Darsemia moved away to college in the town of Bloomington-Normal, Illinois to attend Illinois State University, where she began to make some noise on the yard by performing with the Zeta's in ISU's infamous "Kick-off" on the "Quad" for Illinois State's University's homecoming season as well as modeling and singing in the Zeta Phi Beta Fashion show where she was introduced to Rhythm & Blues Singer Syleena Johnson from the Chicagoland area and also singer of the #1 Hit Single "I'm Your Woman." Darsemia decided to join ISU's Gospel Interdenominational Youth Choir aka "IYC," where "Destiny Child's-Michelle Williams," was soloist at the time but let it all go as she auditioned for a spot in the upcoming group. It was then Darsemia landed the open spot that Michelle left behind for Destiny Child and became one of the lead soloist by popular vote of more than 200+ members within the choir to sing "Prayer of Jabez- Enlarge My Territory, Oh Lord Bless Me Indeed for I Pray for Increase" which was being directed by Gospel Legend- DeAndre Patterson. Darsemia had been featured in the Pantagraph Newspaper in Bloomington-Normal, Illinois as one of the most striving, outgoing students of her time down in the southern portion of Illinois. After Darsemia decided to transfer to Heartland Community College for an more intimate academic setting, she was asked by the school admissions department and government association to be a part of an admission's commercial for entering students for the academic year. Darsemia was also apart of the Gospel Choir as well as an Ambassador for Roosevelt's University Mentoring Program named Student Support Services, Project Prime, Summer Bridge Program for incoming freshmen. Darsemia attended Columbia College for Music Business in conjunction to attending her senior year at Roosevelt University in class with Professor and Music Legend-"Kimo Williams," thus graduating in 2003 with a Bachelors in Political Science with a grade point average of 3.0. Recently, Darsemia has competed in "Americas Got Talent" where she had been scouted by "Ohio Players" James L. Milligan Jr. (CEO of New Experience Records), who inspired her to pursue her dream of attending law school for music business. In Summer 2010, Darsemia took part in her first ever photo shoot & competed in Bar One's Budweiser "Big Break" Competition while making it thru to the 3rd round she was asked to rejoin next year.
