Dante Krysto

Born in Quezon City, Philippines in 1965, Dante's musical experiences began on the piano at the age of 8 and has since been composing his own original material, stemming from the likes of dance music to the utmost original sounds, a most fulfilling source of self-expression for him. Here in Toronto, he began a professional career as a DJ in many circuits, spinning at venues such as the Copa and Spectrum, guest appearances in other high profile Toronto clubs such as The Diamond, RPM and Papparazzi. By the mid 80's he got into remixing, producing, and writing for artists such as eye eye, BB Boris and Hi-Bias Records. 1989 sees Dante's first release entitled 'Cuckoo Clock'. It was part of Toronto techno compiler Gerald Belanger's debut compilation entitled 'The Death Of Vinyl'. The track made it to ..11 in Yugoslavia that year. That same year Daniel Caudeiron of Cheer DJ Pool awarded Dante as Best DJ of The Year. In 1992 Dante received a Juno Award resulting from a Best Worldbeat compilation album entitled 'The Gathering' produced by Parachute Club's Billy Bryans. The track entitled 'Mahal Kita' featured vocalist Barbie Castellvi. A year later New Jersey techno label Radikal Records signed and distributed two new Dante dance tracks entitled 'Kings' and 'Flying' landing chart status leading to an honourable mention in 1993 on CFNY-FM's Casby Awards. Eventually Dante became an active dance music reviewer for several magazines and the Cheer DJ Pool over a 15 year period. In April 1997 Dante formed The ALiens, a musical dance/art/rock concept currently in progress. All in all Dante is set to release several tracks under his belt as producer, songwriter as well as artist under his pseudonym 'Dante Krysto.
