Craig Brohan
Fresh out of musical retirement, Craig Brohan is an American Singer/Songwriter whose melodic songwriting and vocal styling range from British Invasion era Acoustic/Folk Rock, to classic 70's rock inspired Indie/Alternative. As a child in the 1960’s, Craig fell in love with music after hearing his first Beatle song, and was formally trained as a drummer performing at city parades and half-time shows for the Oakland Raiders in the Weldonians Marching Band (1967). Learning to play guitar in 1973, Craig immersed himself in songwriting and home-recording while founding Master Muse Music (BMI) in 1995. Looking back through the decades, Craig recalls one highlight as being ironically bittersweet; leaving him torn between feelings of sorrow, excitement and guilt. John Lennon had just been murdered, and the world was mourning the loss of him and his music. Craig took his acoustic guitar to the memorial being held at Seattle Center to mourn with others and help in his own healing by singing Beatle songs. Hundreds gathered around Craig in celebration of Lennon's life and music by watching and singing along with him. Craig recalls the atmosphere as being surreal, almost trance-like. Then the unexpected happened. Craig woke up to realize that network camera crews had broken through the encircled mourners and started taping him for their evening news programs covering the event. Portions of his performance were picked up nationally and aired through network affiliates coast to coast. (see KIRO TV News Story in Cover Song Videos – or https://youtu.be/OT83sBBSMI0) While ‘Rock 'n' Roll Magic Girl’ (7/23/2020) and ‘It's So Hard’ (10/10/2020) were his first self-released singles from the mid 1990's, his new cover of the Beatles' 'For No One' (May 15, 2026) is out now! Craig's first original to be aired on radio was “I Still Believe In Santa Claus” as Cyrus Gray’s ‘Pick of the Week’ in December 2023 on Hugs at WRGG 24/7 Radio (USA). Before taking his musical sabbatical, Craig recorded backup instrumentation for his solo act, with his shows being a precursor to the not-to-distant Karaoke craze. The audience heard him sing and play guitar live while accompanied by himself on pre-recorded drums, keyboard, bass guitar and backup vocals. Craig further elaborates: “Solo Booking Teasers 1998 – 2003” “...As an aid for getting bookings I produced some of the songs to include the tracks I would normally be doing live so agents and club owners could get a feel for my sound. The more I thought about it, this collection used for booking purposes was kind of like an unofficial album, so I decided to dedicate this playlist to the songs home-recorded between 1998 and 2002 on my Yamaha MD-8 mini-disk recorder together as an album...” YouTube Playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLxM2InHYIgb5QggjVysnsGq90P3TlY-Z9 *Charts posted on Pictures page* *Please see lyric views for guest writer/performer credits and song notes*
