Burt "Bubba" Wilson

Burt “Bubba Whoopass" Wilson was born Donald Burton Wilson Jr. in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he began honing his musical and comedic skills at an early age. He became one of the founding members of Clutch, the phenomenal 50s & 60s-type show band, which toured extensively nationwide. It was during this time when the character of "Bubba" began taking shape. During the 1980s, Burt created, scored, and produced the musical shows that were the cornerstone of the Showbiz Pizza Place chain, nationally. He also provided the loveable voice of “Fatz the Gorilla.” By the early 1990s, Burt was singing in and arranging music for the beloved a capella group, “The Hollywood Hi-Tones,” at Universal Studios, Florida. In 1992, Burt joined the Monsters of the Morning on Real Radio, 104.1 FM Orlando, and as a musician and comedian, became an integral part of the show. There on the Monsters, he stretched his comedic legs as the character we have come to know and love as Bubba "Whoopass" Wilson, resident Cajun-Florida Redneck. He daily presented unique and humorous outlooks on life in a segment called "Correct Me If I'm Wrong," as well as writing, producing, arranging, and performing over 2,000 original songs (to date) for the show. A long-time dream of Burt’s came to fruition in 2007 when he finally released a CD of his more serious music. Everett was a project 25 years in the making, filled with not just recent and award-winning, nationally played songs (such as “Southern Girl,” and the title cut, “Everett”), but also a few compositions from his younger years. The CD very quickly sold out of its first printing, and has received excellent reviews on iTunes. And, in 2012, yet another dream was achieved Burt and all the boys from Clutch were honored to be welcomed into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame by Mayor Kip Holden, after headlining a huge block party celebration in Baton Rouge. True to his Louisiana roots and love of that piano, Burt has become one of the prestigious entertainers featured at Pat O’Brien’s, Universal CityWalk, Orlando! There you can see him "tear up dem keys" on a beautiful copper-covered baby grand for the spectacle of Dueling Pianos on an almost nightly basis! Through all the twists and turns in his life, Burt has stuck close to music and laughter. He’s performed for crowds of thousands, in venues from The Hard Rock and The House of Blues, to more than one local watering hole. He’s shared just about every corner of his life with tens of thousands of fans and listeners. He can not only entertain the crowd, but he genuinely has a great time on stage...and that translates to each and every show. Behind all of his best efforts is always Burt "Bubba Whoopass" Wilson's heart-felt desire to entertain and provide laughter to those he comes into contact with, whether it be over the airwaves, on stage, or in person.
