Andy Hanson
Andy Hanson is an Americana singer-songwriter from Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Andy Hanson finds inspiration for his songs in the highs, lows, optimistic, and fragile moments in life. Andy Hanson has been rooted in music for as long as he can remember. Original from the Twin Cities, he was introduced to music as a Tenor Saxophone player beginning in the sixth grade and the way until he graduated with his undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota Duluth. It was during his freshman year at UMD when Andy picked up the guitar and immediately began writing songs. While his first song was an epic 12 minute, three chord lament about leaving college friends over the holidays, he slowly refined his songwriting process. By the time he moved to Eau Claire, WI, he had a number of originals that he still performs to this day. Eau Claire proved to be an outstanding place for Andy to begin pursuing music more seriously. Despite how great a sad 12 minute, three chord song sounds, his originals are now more refined, organized, and filled with elements borrowed from many musical traditions (Americana, folk, bluegrass, etc.)
