Alison Turner (AliT) is an American singer-songwriter hailing from the small town of Royalton, Vermont. Established in 2004, the self-managed songstress records and performs a “heartfelt” and unique style of alternative indie pop. Having started writing songs at the age of seven, AliT has developed over the years into the introspective, creative songwriter she is today. AliT performs mainly in New England and New York, and has recently played at the legendary Manhattan venue, The Bitter End, where several artists such as Bob Dylan, Stevie Wonder, and Lady Gaga got their start. AliT’s official debut album, “Break” received much praise. Tracks have been featured on Vermont’s Independent Radio Station, ‘The Point’ as well as on Royalton Community Radio in 2014. Her official music video for "Girl Meets World", which she directed and produced herself, was also selected to be featured in Wagner College's annual film festival. Turner spent the last four years attending Wagner College on Staten Island, where she graduated with a B.S. in Arts Administration and a double minor in Film & Media Studies and Psychology. AliT is currently gigging, but has plans to begin her second full-length record in early 2016 (providing her planned in-home studio is built and ready by that time). The following is from an essay Turner wrote in high school: “I love music: Listening to it, writing it, performing it. It’s a huge part of my life, and I want to become successful as an artist. To me, being a singer/songwriter means getting my words heard. I’m a rather reticent person and I’m not very open with what I’m thinking, but when I have my guitar under my arm and I sing my songs, people tend to listen.
