Melody and lyrics and feel are what guides the work of Matthew Gordon. His current work as a solo artist, duo with fiddler Ryann Lynch, and with his band Silvershade Scenery, as well as contributing dobro to The Hoppin' Boxcars, the Bent Benjamins, M Sparks & The Northbounders, and others, has varied from rock to R&B to folk to bluegrass, but has always exhibited his unique voice. His award-winning projects as a solo artist have given him the freedom to explore his own voice even more deeply, with the assistance of the finest musicians in the Philadelphia area. He has also kept busy as a sideman, adding dobro, harmonica, mandolin and/or guitar to such luminaries as the Transcendent Modal Mountain Rounders, The Goose Creek Pioneers, Ronstadt Generations, Ted The Fiddler, The Lost Local Boys, Sarah & The Arrows, Mr. Fuzzy & The Barbarian, Michael G Ronstadt, Pete Kranz, The Keystone Breakers, The Turnips, and many others. He is also proud of past work with The Barn Swallows, Blue Moon, The Friday Project, Party Under Siege, Preston Harrison's Raggedy Band, Matthew & The Bamalama Strings, and others.
