Koda Kapo

Dakota L. Griffin (born May 12, 1992),[1] better known by his stage name Koda Kapo (sometimes "Cleopatra"), is an American Rapper, Singer, Author, Actor, Stand-up Comedian, Artist, Video Director, Fashion/Clothing Designer, DJ (Disc Jockey) MC, Studio Owner/Manager, Guitar Player & Model from Cleveland, Ohio. He is also a noted record producer/engineer under the pseudonym “DJ L3ftcoast” for the independent media outfit: "JVRI". He is currently signed to Los Angeles based label Capitol Records and released his debut compilation mixtape "Serindipity Musik", on November 5, 2013 on the indie label Jungle Vibes Records. His first solo mixtape (“Finding The Edge Of The World”) [released October 31st 2013] has already gained a massive underground following despite being released completely independently. His second studio project the “Outer Limits EP” was released on June 18, 2012, and the remastered/extended play version finally hit retail store shelves December 24th 2016. His 2nd solo mixtape "Feeding Off Chaos" (released Christmas 2014) showed a significant increase in production quality to an industry professional level, spawning Koda's first ever radio singles such as "Golden" peaking at #187. Even with the lack of a major record deal, by 2014 he had managed to break the billboard 200 independent charts, got published in several full page magazine articles & toured extensively both in the United States & Internationally. His 5th solo release "Good Intentions & Tough Decisions" (Summer 2017) has by far been considered his breakthrough effort, with original production on nearly every song, co-produced by longtime collaborator and musical partner "Young Nemo"(Nemo Tha Kid). He received a associates degree for Audio Engineering & Production, along with business management at Lakeland Community College in Kirtland, Ohio before he transferred to UCLA to complete his college education. Koda frequently collaborates with side projects from his Experimental Jazz band “Serin.” to the new Alternative-Hip-Hop super-group “Kuttin’ Klass” witch he is the DJ for. He was one of the founding members of the Alternative Media Outlet "Psylence" during the genesis of the original company that is now currently owned & operated by former labelmate "Blake Delta". He is the co-producer, writer, & main star of the hit television series "Tanqueray Today", a upcoming Netflix original series that borders realistic fiction based on his personal life & career. The Youtube Pilot was released June 16th 2014, however the show itself wasn't picked up by Netflix and put into production until March 2018. Dakota has published 7 novels to date, all through the Chicago based company "Xlibris Publishing". Despite being born with a severe form of autism, he has managed to become completely fluent in 6 foreign languages, & has mastered playing over 37 different musical instruments at a professional skill level. To this day, he has released 7 solo records under the name "Koda Kapo". He released 3 Projects with his band "Serein" aka (Sereindipity Musik). 5 EDM CD's as "DJ L3ftCoast". 13 compilation records as the group engineer/producer under the platform "JVRI". 2 EP's with the super-group "Kuttin' Klass". & he has also recorded countless mixtapes & demo tapes for brand new artists he discovered & developed such as: "Young Nemo" & "Blake Delta". He plays as a guest session player for all kinds of bands, such as the country western outlaw group "Universal Joint" led by his biological mother: "Angelle Keiffer". He has also found work as a ghostwriter, being hired in the past to write lyrics for other hip-hop artists such as "King Krispy", "Big Sean" & others. He began his career working in the Cleveland Music scene in 2008 as a concert promoter for the legendary venue / niteclub "Peabody's Downunder" on 21st street.
