Established and the most famous Hip-Hop & R&B artist out of Idaho.
Music built on truth, growth, and elevation. Hakeem Prime (formerly Hyphy Da Spider) has been grinding for over a decade, blending Bay Area hyphy roots with smooth R&B vocals and sharp rap bars. His breakout came early with the 2016 single “Slip Up” (nearing 2M+ YouTube views), earning radio rotation on 99 JAMZ / WEDR 99.1 FM for the conscious track “More Than This” (inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.), which built his loyal core fan base.
In 2025, Hakeem leveled up massively: Dropping his genre-defying album Prime Reality on April 5 (featuring standouts like “Fade Away” with Kujin production, “Spin The Block,” “I Can’t With You,” and more—praised as a versatile masterpiece blending Khalid/Rod Wave/Layton Greene vibes). He followed with the high-impact Boise Distortion • Pack EP in June (including diss tracks “CTRL+C,” “Meet The Duckworths,” “Dysphoria,” and “6:11 In BOI”), sparking major hip-hop conversations amid the Kendrick Lamar/Drake feud. Tracks like these showcased raw accountability, systemic critique, and underdog energy from his Boise base.
Building on hits like “Imma Let You Go” (4M+ Apple Music streams), “Try It Again,” and collabs (e.g., King Von on “Pull Up”), Hakeem continued touring (including dates like Hamilton Hill Arts Center in August) and expanding his sound into Dancehall, Jersey Club, and Afro Beat influences. From Oakland origins to Atlanta scenes to Idaho independence, his journey is pure elevation—delivering unfiltered, relatable stories that cut deep.
