Cortez

The Band Cortez is a Original Rock/Metal Band. It's Dark Melodic Groove Rock with compassion and inviting charismatic Live stage presence, fronted by guitarist/vocalist Al Cortez. Al Cortez comes from a musical background starting with his grandfather Al Cortez Sr. having the Cortez Orchestra in the 50s following suit Al’s father played flaminco guitar. Without a doubt Al Cortez himself would be bitten by the music bug at a very early age. In 2009 drumming buddy that he Jammed with in his teens J Rodney Jansen showed up on his doorstep. The Music Connection was rekindled. To this day Al and Rod Jansen continue to collaborate and bust out great music together. In 2010 after reuniting with lifelong drummer buddy J Rodney Jansen Al started The Band Cortez. The Legacy of music with the Cortez name would live on. Since Al had built a recording studio he had just finished the first CD "As It Is Now". Al played all the instruments, vocals and use a drum machine for this CD. Shortly after Al & Rod reunited the "Raise Some Hell", Metal Infused CD came out. In 2012 while at a club Al happen to run into keyboardist friend Rick Fulton that he had played with in a band called Fatal Fate in the nineties. Al ask Rick to come over to the studio to jam with him and Rod. they had a tune already redy to record called The Stranger and recorded it that night with Rick who joined that night. Shortly thereafter in 2013 the third CD "Frantic Relm" was released. Rocking right along into 2015 Cortez 4th CD "Who Rules Now" hit the scene. Around this time this 3 piece band from Dallas was ranked #2 on the Rock/Metal charts for Dallas-Fort Worth #145 nationally and #272 worldwide on ReverbNation.
