Originally from Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan, AtJap13 takes music in a new direction with his genre "Visual Kei Porn Rap". Combining hip-hop beats with explicit lyrics and visual kei aesthetics, this unique sound was created. Not for the faint of heart, this genre will for sure capture the attention of everyone who hears it. The teen wunderkind who is a hyperbole of teenage angst and rebellion. An artist with a sound almost as unique as the image, AtJap13 is a Visual Kei and Hip Hop crossover act with a message of never let society silence your voice. 13 years strong and shrouded in mystery, AtJap13 is avant-garde music with a futuristic dystopian vibe and androgynous image. Known for sounds that are a mash up of non-music (white noise and sinal signals), alt rock riffs, and breakbeats featuring dark and sometimes grotesque lyrics with hissing or mechanical voice. Vocal manipulation, distortion, and added reverb are often used to create this dystopian teenage dreamland. Growling verse with disturbing imagery or blunt queer-positive rap is contrast with a dark-meets-cute appearance. Each song has its own unique sound and energy, but Visual Kei and light-hearted youthfulness is always present. Stylized as a perpetual teenager living in a fantasy world, the duality of the music and image extend into lyrics, with most songs having hidden or alternate meaning.
