Zaire

Zaire was founded in 1981 by three high school friends (Mike DiCenso, Jim Leahey and Matt Pisani). We started as a 3-piece acoustic trio, playing classic/acoustic rock with an emphasis on strong 3-part harmonies. We’ve played at local bars, restaurants and festivals all around the New Jersey area. One by one we began to leave the central Jersey area and move west, with all of us ending up in the Phillipsburg, NJ area. Since 2007 we’ve enjoyed playing at new venues in New Jersey and the Lehigh Valley area to receptive audiences that appreciate the music and harmonies we provide during our show. We can still be found playing as a 3-piece acoustic trio, covering artists such as The Eagles and Crosby, Stills & Nash, Tom Petty, Radiohead and more. We can also be seen playing as a 4-piece band with Jed Hoban on drums giving the band more drive and getting audiences up on their feet. That’s our story.
