Bio
Wes Weddell built a Northwest following producing local-minded songs: in 2001, he received a grant to travel the region gathering history and writing songs, chronicled on “My NW Home.” “Songs to Get You From Here to There” (2006) follows nicely: “Folk meets rockabilly meets lonesome cowboy waltzes,” proclaims Performing Songwriter Magazine, while Victory Music Review adds, “Wes is a major talent in American music.” Included is “Carry On,” winner of the 2006 Tumbleweed Songwriting Contest. The stories accompanying the songs are a concert highlight. Hailed a “Modern-Day Woody Guthrie” by the Seattle Times, Wes also founded a non-profit that produces community live-music events around Seattle.
