Reg Poncsak loves to attend jams and open mics in and around the Comox Valley.
He just gets on stage singing his original lyrics and playing his 1969 Gibson EB-3 bass where various other musicians join him and add to the music.
Having the total freedom to play what you deem will fit the song, is cherished by the jammers.
The engagements Reg obtains, are performed by available musicians who have met and played at jams with him, developing quite a few good songs, which are now becoming popular. There are also some songs on the set-list they have never heard before or only played once or twice. The level of experience of the musicians who will perform this show give rise to an expectation of a very interesting and spontaneous showcase of high quality talent.
There may even be a good recording obtained during the night, which will be available as a CD or MP3 for your future enjoyment and for promoting this idea to other musicians and club owners who might find this concept exciting and creative.
Having presented my original songs at jams and live recorded gigs
on bass and vocals, I have now recorded and produced this CD.
I have always played bass, and I am starting to learn acoustic guitar
by developing my songs using the hooks, riffs, leads, and rhythms
caught on those live tapes. To guide me to learn guitar in this way
I am grateful for these spontaneously performed elements played by
excellent musicians joining me on stage, often not even having met.
