“The Manic Street Preachers stepped in to help when Pieces of Mind, who have a combined age of 663, decided it was time to cut a record. A veteran rock group have recorded their debut album FIFTY years after they formed – after pals the Manic Street Preachers stepped in to help. Pieces of Mind, who have a combined age of 663, got together in 1963 and went on to support superstars like The Who. They split at the end of the 1960s but came together for a reunion gig last year. Then they decided to cut a record. When singer Adrian Williams told pals the Manics of their plans the Blackwood boys offered them their Cardiff studio. “I’m not sure if the Manics have heard the record yet,” John said. Adrian is going to take the record to them next weekend. “When we were recording, the Manics were doing rehearsals at Rockfield and could not come down too much,” lead guitarist John said. “But James is a b****y good guitarist.”...”
