Lisa McGlown was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio where her musical gifts were birthed and developed at an early age. Her professional music career began at age 12, as a drummer for various churches and groups in the metro Toledo area. Lisa would go on to accompany gospel greats such as: Dr. Mattie Moss-Clark, Fred Hammond, Vickie Winans, Marvin Winans, Vanessa Bell-Armstrong, Twinkie Clark, The Clark Sisters, Rance Allen, Thomas Whitfield, Donald Vails, Marvin Sapp and many others.
As a vocalist and songwriter, Lisa has worked with: Abaktwa/Chosen, John Amato, Percy Bady, Alphonso Thomad, Candi Staton, Wayne Linsey, Bill Maxwell, Scott V. Smith, Babbie Mason, Derrick Lee, Vernessa Mitchell, Maurice Starr, Ronnie Song, Israel Embry, Daniel Winans, Marcus Williams, Xavier Gordon, Sanchez Harley, Vance Taylor..
In 1992, the song, "Reap What You Sow," co-written by Lisa McGlown, was released by world renowned producer, Junior Vazquez (“Sunday Drive Volume 1,” which featured Vernessa Mitchell, Cher, Annie Lennox and many other music greats). "Reap What You Sow" reached gold status in Europe. In 2006, she wrote and co-produced her first Gospel cd entitled, “Lisa McGlown & Friends.” In 2009, Lisa released the single, "Dance All Night" which is enjoying worldwide radio airplay in all music formats as well as her jazzy rendition of the Christmas classic, "Gloria (Angels We Have Heard On High)" released in 2009.
Lisa succinctly states, "I am simply a songwriter who sings to share my music."
