Heather Joyce is an English/Canadian singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, now living near Paris. She plays saxes, clarinets, flutes and far too many other instruments, but writes songs on guitar, working with CALLUNA (David Zérathe - drums and percussion, Gary Brunton - double bass). You can hear three brand new recordings from our first session in a studio here - EP of six songsto be released in September2015.
Major songwriting/musical influences – Van Morrison, Joan Armatrading, Mike Scott, Richard Thompson, John Martyn, Greg Brown, Rachel Harrington, Springsteen, Elvis Costello...
Since moving to France nearly 20 years ago (to perform with Cirque Plume as a diva/multi-instrumentalist), Heather's had two daughters and has been teaching songwriting workshops in schools. She first worked with Gary and David on a children's musical that she was commissioned to write last year (See 'Chatenay Hootenanny' page). Now CALLUNA is ready to step out...what do you think?
