OLD FULL BAND PROFILE: Geoff Scott, FOUNDER/LEAD SINGER/GUITAR – GEOFF SCOTT BAND Born on the 23rd of June 1983 in Marietta Georgia, Geoff Scott (Geoff Pendleton) also known as “G”, “G-Slice”, “Gsus” and “Ping” is the founder of the Geoff Scott Band. Geoff Scott started writing his music and lyrics back in 2002 and wanted to expand into something bigger. The Geoff Scott Band was originally formed in March 2010 with different members and was short lived because of difficulty with members having personal problems. A hiatus was drawn until Geoff could piece together the right members. Before the Geoff Scott Band was formed, Geoff played in a few other bands named “Exit 6”, “State Dependency” and “Retro Circus” and styles ranged from acoustic to alternative to 80’s glam rock. While in the band “Exit 6”, they would play at a local venue called “Sidelines” in Kennesaw Georgia, where they met Zac Brown in 2004. Zac liked the band and invited them to open up for him at the bar that he owned in Eatonton, Georgia called Zac’s Place. The band, "Exit 6", dispersed after a few months due to moving situations. Geoff Scott’s vocals and guitar writing has sometimes been related to Dave Matthews because of his influence ever since he started learning guitar at the age of 14. Other influences down the line were, Collective Soul, Foo Fighters, Radiohead, Led Zeppelin and Rush. “When I started learning how to play guitar, I wanted to learn the hardest riffs. I wanted a challenge in the beginning even though I couldn’t play. I remember asking for the Dave Matthews Band - Under the Table and Dreaming Songbook for Christmas along with my guitar and remembering how frustrated I was trying to learn how to play through it. Those arduous experiences when you are younger make you what you are today.” ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- RANDY WILT, DRUMS/PERCUSSION – GEOFF SCOTT BAND Once known as “Sticky Dedos”, Randy is the senior member of the Geoff Scott Band having played most recently with Atlanta based bands, “The X-Rays” and “Grady Curve”. Styles have ranged from instrumental surf to contemporary Christian to current country to blues to classic rock. “Sticky” now playing DMB inspired originals and classic covers. Years and range of playing drums and percussion instruments is preferred to be left “unmentionable.” Born and raised in the “rust belt”, Randy migrated to the Atlanta area in the early 80’s. His drumming influences were mainly based on the music and bands of the 70’s and 80’s and by drummers such as Danny Seraphine of Chicago, and his style has been compared to that of Hal Blaine, predominant studio drummer of that era. Preferring classic kits and having spent most of his years playing Ludwig, he is now playing Gretsch and Paiste equipment, in addition to Hart Dynamics electronic drums. “Aside from the fact that Geoff of the Geoff Scott Band is a son-in-law, I am looking forward to contributing to the broadening appeal of Geoff’s music. His musical and lyrical creations are impressive. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chuck McArthur Bassist for Geoff Scott Band I started life in Ms and music has been a part of my life since I could remember. I began singing when I was very young with my family singing gospel music and listening to rock, r&b & blues supplied to me by my favorite cousin, who was much older than me and had a great record collection. I took an interest in the bass after hearing Dave Hope of Kansas and John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin. I later discovered James Jamerson and Stevie Wonder. I know Stevie Wonder's not a bass player but he has written some of the grooviest bass lines ever heard. I also have been greatly influenced by the band Toto and the killer rhythm section of Jeff Pocaro and both David Hungate and Mike Pocaro. I love all kinds of music, as long as it's done well and with conviction. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- JAMES EARLE GUITARIST FOR GEOFF SCOTT BAND James Earle is a 24-year-old Guitarist in the Atlanta area. James is experienced in multiple styles of guitar, specializing in Blues, Blues Rock, Classic Rock, Pop Rock, Acoustic Fingerstyle, Jazz and Country. He is currently playing lead guitar for The Geoff Scott Band, as well as The Good for Nothings (a top 40 cover band). He recently started working with an up-and-coming country music artist, Lindsey Beth Harper. He works with Lindsey as her guitarist and is currently writing music with her for her new E.P.
