GARVIES

GARVIES is a high-octane alternative rock project where artisan craftsmanship meets raw, visceral sound. Originally forged on the sands of Tofino, BC, from the marriage of South African singer-songwriter Daz Collins and Gatineau bassist Carina Mach, the project is now firmly rooted in the creative community of the Outaouais. The band delivers a sonic experience that is as meticulously constructed as it is explosive. With two records under their belt—The Good Life and Durban Poison—the project has evolved into its definitive form with the addition of Brent Hildebrand on drums and Rich Bennet on lead guitar. Together, this powerhouse four-piece blends driving alternative rock with rhythmic elements of blues, funk, and reggae, creating a soundscape that rewards the curious listener while commanding the energy of a festival stage. Defined by a strict DIY ethos and a multidisciplinary approach to their art, GARVIES treats every performance like a physical build—focusing on structural integrity, grit, and high-fidelity energy. Whether on a coastal stage or under the lights of the Outaouais, GARVIES brings a professional, artisanal brand of rock that is built to last.
