Dre Black is a singer, songwriter, and independent artist born in Washington, DC. He graduated from Duke Ellington School of the Performing Arts which groomed him along his artistic journey. When he graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology, he wanted to pursue a career in fashion; however, music continued to manifest. Dre auditioned for American Idol Season 4, making it to the 3rd round at the DC auditions; however, it wasn't enough for Hollywood. As Dre continued to grow and evolve as an artist, he collaborated with various artists throughout the DMV area. He worked for the local radio station WPGC 95.5 and completed an internship at Sirius Radio. Dre started a lifestyle blog, DreBlackSoFresh.com back in 2010, and has amassed over 5 million views.
In 2017, Dre created Motivated Elevation LLC, a music development company where he continues to establish himself as a songwriter while developing other artists through artist development: songwriting, vocal coaching, stage movement and performance coaching and creative direction. In 2021, he started a beard care line specifically for black men, DBSKINCARE4MEN.
Dre released his debut project "Etched in Stone" in August 2019, which has been streamed over 450k times on Spotify. He won 3rd and 4th place in the Worldwide Coast 2 Coast Interactive Showcase in LA in 2017 and 2020 where he got the opportunity to connect with the VP of A&R at Atlantic Records. While he continues to cement his brand, Dre is consistently working on new music and collaborating with other like-minded creatives to push the culture forward in positive, innovative ways.
