Cherry Blossom Ramblers is a Traverse City-based family band founded in 2007 by Lawrence "Doc" Probes and Donna Wilson Probes. Their daughters, Jessica & Kelly Shugart, often have performed with band, and although Jessica now lives out of state, Kelly is in Traverse City frequently and makes regular appearances. Cherry Blossom Ramblers performs music spanning a number of popular genres: traditional folk, singer-songwriter, country, old time, bluegrass, Celtic & Irish traditional, international, gospel and blues. Strong, right & rich vocal harmonies are a hallmark of the CBR sound. Instruments include guitar, mandolin, ukelele, bouzouki, keyboard, bass, jembe & other percussion, concertina, whistle and last but not least, kazoo! CBR performs concerts as well as for festivals, restaurants, clubs, private parties, church and non-profit events, and any place where good music is wanted and welcomed. The band is equally at home with non-amplified acoustic performances and with a full sound system.
