Anthony Smothers – Singer-Songwriter
I’m a singer-songwriter at heart, and I guess I always will be.
For over a decade, I cut my teeth playing clubs and the college circuit throughout the late ’80s and ’90s. After twelve years on the road, I stepped back from performing, feeling burned out and in need of a break.
In February 2009, I returned to the studio—this time solo. I reconnected with Bruce Bennett (Bruce Bennett Studio, Stone Mountain, GA) and Scott Patton (Scott Patton Music), and began bringing some of my long-held song ideas to life.
In 2014, I teamed up with Andy Taylor as a co-writer, and together we created several songs now featured on my ReverbNation page. In 2023, my wife Peggy Lento Smothers joined our writing team. She’s brought a breath of fresh air and powerful storytelling to our music, helping us capture moments that truly resonate.
I’m deeply grateful for the family, friends, and talented studio musicians who have helped shape this journey. Most of all, I give all praise and thanks to God.
