Vengeance Resides

Vengeance Resides is a Durban based metal band, consisting of five guys passionate about music. The band formed in January 2009 when Nic Hagan (Vocals), Andrew De Croes (Guitar) and Leon Deyzel (Drums) started jamming together. With Nic’s brutal low and screeching high vocals, Andy’s technical guitar riffs, and Leon’s solid double bass drenched drums, there was instant chemistry. Gareth Fraser later joined and added a new dimension with his thrash bass playing and has since moved to guitar alongside Andy. Gareth Burmeister then took up the four string duties on live bass. Playing a mix of thrash/death they captivate the audience with an intense live experience. To date V.R. has established themselves in the Durban Metal scene having played at major festivals such as Metal 4 Africa, From The Dark, Deathfest, Winston of the Dead as well as a successful Gauteng tour. Having recorded two demos - “Enjoy your Misery” and “Lifeline”, plans for an EP are now in the pipelines. VR’s influences include All Shall Perish, Lamb of God, Divine Heresy, At the Gates, Etc.
