VAN LEAR BLACK

Van Lear Black is Rock 'N' Roll with a southern edge and a soulful, bluesy vibe but with a hard rock drive that's balls to the wall! It's made up of five very different individuals with a common goal; to create and perform bad ass rock 'n' roll. The front man,Sean Whiting, spent the first several years of his music career performing in cover bands and playing where ever and when ever the opportunity arose, but for the last several years has been focusing on songwriting. Lead guitar, Greg Cline has spent the last 20 plus years as a studio musician and lead guitarist in several cover bands while also lending his talents as mandolin and fiddle player on several bluegrass, gospel, and country compilations. Bassist, back up vocalist, and all around musician, Mike Hayden, brings his fair share of experience as well having spent a portion of the 90's with a nationally touring country act and several cover bands in the region. Percussionist, Josh Daniels, (4 time Guitar Center drum off winner) is an exceptional drummer and all around talented musician as well bringing 15 years of performing and writing into the mix. Newest member, Tim Brown, is an unbelievably creative and energetic guitarist with several years of songwriting and performing around the region under his belt. Having only recently formed in late summer of 2011, Van Lear Black has already had the opportunity to share the stage with 80's multi-platinum act, L.A. Guns, Rival Sons, Mark Knight(Bang Tango), Mark Tremalgia(Bang Tango/Chamber Brothers), the up and coming Nashville rock act, The Jompson Brothers(Chris Stapleton), country artist, Fifth on the Floor, and Chicago based blues rock act, The Steepwater Band.
